Non-traded REIT sponsor Behringer Harvard REIT 1 appointed Tom August as executive vice president. August was formerly a trustee of Brandywine Realty Trust.

BRE Properties Inc. (NYSE: BRE) appointed Paula Downey to the board of directors. She replaces Roger P. Kuppinger, who is retiring after 13 years of service. Downey is currently president of AAA Northern California, Nevada and Utah.

Additionally, the company announced several promotions in March: Deborah Jones is now senior vice president, associate relations and development; Marco M. Vakili is now vice president, development, Southern California; Tami Busse is now vice president, internal audit; Jason Crichfield is now vice president, finance; and Debra Van Cleve is now vice president, associate learning and development.

Hugh Scott-Barrett, the former chief financial officer of ABN AMRO Holding, will succeed Martin Barber as Chief Executive Officer of Capital & Regional Plc.

Colonial Properties Trust (NYSE: CLP) promoted Paul Earle to chief operating officer. Previously, he was executive vice president, multifamily.

Devin Murphy joined Coventry Real Estate Advisors, LLC as a managing partner. Previously, he was global head of real estate investment banking for Deutsche Bank.

Equity One, Inc. (NYSE: EQY) named Thomas Caputo as president. He replaces Jeff Olson, who remains with the company as CEO. Previously, Caputo was an executive vice president at Kimco Realty Corporation (NYSE: KIM).

HCP, Inc. (NYSE:HCP) announced several promotions in March: Edward J. Henning was named executive vice president, general counsel, chief administrative officer and corporate secretary; Jonathan M. Bergschneider was named senior vice president–life science estates; James A. Croy was promoted to vice president–medical office properties; Arceldine Decene-Beltrene was named vice president–accounting; John Lu was promoted to vice president–investment management; G. Michael McIlwain was named vice president—medical office properties; Darrin L. Smith was named vice president–acquisitions and valuations; and John D. Stasinos was named vice president–acquisitions and valuations.

Health Care REIT, Inc. (NYSE: HCN) appointed Jeffrey R. Otten to the board of directors. Previously, he served as president and chief executive officer of the Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Inland Western Real Estate Trust, Inc. announced several promotions in March: Michael O'Hanlon is now president and CEO; Steven P. Grimes is now COO and CFO; Shane Garrison is now CIO; and Niall Byrne is now president of property management.

National Retail Properties, Inc. (NYSE: NNN) appointed CEO Craig Macnab to the additional post of chairman of the board of directors. He succeeds Clifford R. Hinkle. The company also announced that Dennis Gershenson was appointed as a member of the board.

Nationwide Health Properties, Inc. (NYSE: NHP) announced that Donald D. Bradley was promoted to executive vice president and chief investment officer. He was formerly senior vice president and general counsel. Abdo H. Khoury was promoted to executive vice president and chief financial and portfolio officer. Previously, he was senior vice president and chief portfolio officer. Additionally, Derrick D. Pete was named vice president of corporate development.

Regency Centers (NYSE: REG) named Mark Peternell vice president of sustainability. He currently serves as a member of the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED for the Retail Committee.

Douglas Rubenstein is now managing director for Stifel Nicolaus' real estate investment banking group. Previously, he was with AG Edwards.

UDR, Inc. (NYSE: UDR) appointed Warren L. Troupe as senior executive vice president and general counsel. Previously, he was a partner with Morrison & Forester LLP.
