A leading affordable housing advocacy organization recognized Apartment Investment and Management Company (NYSE: AIV) in March for the quality of its multifamily communities.
The National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA), which represents multifamily housing owners and management companies, bestowed its 2007 Communities of Quality Program Award on the company—commonly known as “AIMCO”—at the association’s annual meeting in Washington. AIMCO received the award in recognition of the fact that it had the highest number of multifamily communities certified by NAHMA for excellence in 2007. AIMCO’s portfolio included 60 communities that had been certified by NAHMA for their performance across measures such as customer service and affordable property management.
“The award underscores our commitment to creating outstanding affordable housing communities throughout the country,” said Jeff Kimes, Aimco senior vice president and head of affordable operations. “This is a great credit to our dedicated team members who deliver outstanding services and are constantly striving to meet and exceed the needs of our residents.”
AIMCO owns and operates nearly 1,200 apartment properties across the country, featuring more than 200,000 apartment units in total.
